We are a young medical technology startup from Lower Saxony specializing in active cooling products combined with compression. PNProtect was founded as a spin-off project of the Laser Zentrum Hannover (LZH) and NEXSTER, the entrepreneurship center of Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts, with the goal of bringing scientific ideas to the market.
Since then, we have made it our mission to further develop our ideas and create a new approach to cooling technology.
The name PNProtect stands for “polyneuropathy (PN) – protect” and reflects the original idea behind our company: the development of an active cooling system for the prevention of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN).
Due to an acute clinical need, we searched for a way to actively cool the hands and feet over an extended period during chemotherapy, thereby helping to prevent nerve damage.
Our goal was to create an effective and safe cold therapy that is also suitable for extended application periods.
We have made it our mission to sustainably improve mobility, health, and quality of life through our cooling technology. To achieve this, we aim to establish the next generation of cooling — cooling that truly makes a difference.
We are developing the next generation of cold application, thereby replacing outdated cooling methods.
Our long-term cooling is designed for particularly extended application times, thereby enabling more effective cooling.
